The Topographical & Measured Building Survey of Smithson Plaza, London.

Founded by the Smithsons in 1964, The Plaza stands as a prominent figure in modern architecture. In 2018, this Grade II Listed building underwent a transformation, adopting the name ‘Smithson Plaza’ in homage to its original architects. The structures evolved into a design classic, harmoniously merging refurbished offices, residences, and retail areas, enhanced by the introduction of a new pocket park.

The Plaza now features a 15-storey Office Tower, a 5-storey Bank Building, and an 8-storey Residential Building. This regenerated space captures a blend of historical significance and contemporary functionality.

Upcoming phases will involve restructuring areas such as the removal of the underground carpark to create room for an expansive cultural space. These modifications aim to elevate the plaza’s ambiance, transforming it into a quiet yet vibrant meeting place.

The survey was undertaken with a Leica RTC360 Laser Scanner, Trimble Total Station & GPS. The output included precision a 2D AutoCAD Topographical Plan, Floor Plans encompassing areas such as the Car Park and Plant Rooms, and Roof Plan.
