SUMMARY
The 3D BIM Survey of St Mary the Virgin Church, Reading.
St Mary the Virgin Church in Reading is a Grade II listed building with origins as a Saxon church. It was later simplified in a Calvinistic style, featuring a flat ceiling and a royal coat of arms. The church has six bells, with the most recently added bell requiring reinforcement of the tower due to its weight.
The church preserves a wealth of history, including stone monuments of local families and medieval brasses, such as that of a royal wine taster, highlighting its deep ties to royal patronage.
The Church was surveyed using the latest laser scanning technology and the output included a precision 3D BIM Model delivered to our standard LOD4 facades and LOD3 internal modelling specification.
The survey of this church stands proud within our 3D Modelling and Heritage portfolio which includes, Pembroke Castle, and St James’s Church.
