Digital Measured Building Survey Of Hospital In Putney, London

Clients IBI Group appointed Survey Base to provide a Measured Building Survey of the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN) in Putney. The detailed brief included the tracking of services running above the suspended ceiling.

Tracking services can be a challenge and needs careful planning and management. Working with the RHN and maintenance teams we scheduled a logical survey traverse that protected all users of the building. Ceiling tiles were removed ahead of our Laser Scanning team. Tiles were then replaced, and the ward rigorously cleaned before returning to normal patient care.

The results of the survey demonstrate our capability of undertaking an intrusive survey within a controlled hospital environment.

The Hospital has a fascinating history as the first institution in the UK to care for people living with chronic illness or disability. Established in 1854 the RHN was a prominent Victorian charity and received support from Florence Nightingale and Charles Dickens, among other ‘celebrities’ of the day
