The Topographical & Elevation Survey of Avon Paper Mills, Bristol

Avon Paper Mills opened in 1827 and operated on the same site near Bristol for over 150 years.

The site is a collection of Victorian red brick industrial buildings and later steel frame sheds. It was recently purchased by a national haulage company who required a precision digital survey to support a major re development application.

Following appointment our comprehensive brief included a full site Topographical Survey and Measured Building Survey of all existing structures. Given the condition of the site we began with a detailed risk assessment and produced a method statement to guide our survey operations. Our team were fully briefed on site safety procedures.

We completed the site survey in 10 days with processing requiring a further 20 working days. The as built record included the topographic site plan, all building floor plans, all building elevations, roof plans and sections.

Avon Paper Mills was the latest in a series of industrial site surveys. Since foundation in 1998 we have completed over 200 similar projects of large format manufacturing, pharmaceutical, processing plants, warehousing, and distribution buildings.
