The Topographical and Measured Building Survey of Sun Chemicals, Radstock.

Sun Chemical is the world’s largest producer of printing inks and pigments and a leading provider of materials to packaging, publication, coatings, plastics, cosmetics, and other industrial markets.
The Sun Chemical site in Radstock is a large manufacturing plant spread over 20 acres. Surveybase were appointed by prominent structural engineers Buro Happold to deliver a detailed Topographical Survey and Elevation Survey of all site buildings. Our precision survey was the first stage of a major investment programme.
Site survey operations lasted 10 working days. We deployed traditional total station instruments. GPS systems and the latest 3D Laser Scanners. The survey was scheduled in close liaison with site management to ensure safety and limit disruption.
Processing of the survey data completed in a similar time frame. The precision as built record included the topographic site plan and over 30 building elevation plans.
Surveybase are experts in the accurate measured survey of industrial sites. Since foundation in 1998 we have completed over 200 similar projects of large format manufacturing, pharmaceutical, processing plants, warehousing, and distribution buildings.

The survey was commissioned by international structural engineers, Buro Happold. The Sun Chemicals industrial site is a major Ink manufacturing plant. Spread over several acres and include many processing buildings, our brief was to deliver a Topographical Survey of the entire site and Elevation plans of specific buildings. The site survey took 10 days to complete with processing requiring a similar period.
