Following November’s interim event, the annual GEO Business conference returned to its normal May date and as is tradition a number of the team took time out to attend.
This leading industry event exhibits 120 global brands and cutting-edge start-ups showcasing the newest tech, tools, and solutions for the geospatial world. In addition, the event benefits from a CPD accredited education programme with 200 free workshops that provide a unique opportunity for industry professionals to meet up.
The event did not disappoint delivering a motivational mix of inspiration, innovation and a glimpse of the future. Major developers NavVis and GeoSLAM held centre stage with their mobile mapping technology. Others including Leica Geosystems promoted the latest autonomous drone surveying instruments whose progression and capability is literally flying.
The overall message focused on equality and diversity and considering opportunities to appeal to the next generation of surveyors. We were particularly impressed with the work of Elaine Ball and the team at Get Kids Into Survey who are spearheading the challenge to bring more young people into our exciting industry
Well done to everyone behind GEO Business we look forward to catching up next year.
