3D Measured Building Survey & 3D Model Of Private House In Bath

This is a nice example of a barn conversion survey undertaken with our Faro Laser Scanning instruments and processed as a BIM ready Revit model.

Its no ordinary barn survey. The property is a real gem resting in one of Bath’s most exclusive residential zones. Its rustic character being the juxtaposition of the surrounding Georgian buildings of which Bath is perhaps better known. But for all those reasons the property truly stands out on the local landscape. The distinctive courtyard layout delivers a warm welcome to visitors entering through the east arch. Whilst the outbuildings that flank the courtyard are presently in an agricultural condition, it doesn’t  need too much imagination to see how this development will evolve. Our private Client, a structural engineer with Revit capability, naturally wanted a 3D BIM ready deliverable. The model was built to our LOD 3 Architectural BIM specification. We used a mix of system families and our own Revit components library. The majority of the model has been built using intelligent parametric components with “real life” characteristics such as “U” values. This will really help our Client in the design phase and beyond to procurement and construction.

The professionalism Survey Base extended was exemplary. They showed genuine care for my property and were polite and courteous at all times. My demands of the model are quite involved as I want to engage with contractors and suppliers using the single point of data. To that end I found their Technical team capable, flexible and dedicated to achieving my objective.
